Mobile body text size

Use at least 16px for body text and form inputs on mobile.

Why it matters

16px is comfortable to read, and on iPhone any input below 16px makes Safari zoom in when tapped, which breaks the layout.

How to apply it

  • Set inputs to 16px so iOS doesn't zoom in
  • Use relative units so text respects user settings
  • Test on a real phone, outdoors

Common mistakes

  • 12px body text
  • Disabling zoom in the viewport tag
