WCAG 2.2 target size

Clickable targets should be at least 24 by 24 CSS px (AA), and ideally 44 by 44.

Why it matters

AA requires 24 x 24 px (or enough spacing). 44 x 44 is the stricter AAA level and Apple's guideline, and still a great target to aim for.

How to apply it

  • Give icon buttons real padding
  • Space small links apart in lists
  • Make whole cards or rows clickable where it makes sense

Common mistakes

  • Tiny close buttons
  • Tightly packed footer links
