Right-size and void calculator

Work out the smallest safe box for a product, how much air you're shipping, and what dimensional weight it will be billed at.

Compare with the box you use today by entering its size below.

Why void space costs twice

Air in a box costs money on the way in, as board and filler, and again on the way out, because carriers bill on dimensional weight when a parcel is bulky for its weight. Dim weight is length times width times height in centimetres divided by a carrier divisor, and you pay on whichever is higher, that or the real weight.

Right-sizing is usually the cheapest sustainability win available to a small brand, and EU packaging rules are moving the same way: from 2030 the empty space in e-commerce, transport and grouped packaging is capped at 40%. Fewer box sizes are easier to stock, so aim for a small ladder of sizes that fits most of your range rather than a perfect box per product.
