Touch target checker

Check a button or icon against WCAG 2.2 target size rules, including the spacing exception, drawn at real size.

Measure the clickable area, not the icon inside it. Padding counts.

24 pixels is the floor, not the goal

WCAG 2.2 added target size (minimum) at level AA: controls should be at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels. There are exceptions, and the useful one is spacing. An undersized target still passes if a 24 pixel circle centred on it doesn't touch the circle of any neighbouring target, which is why a small icon with generous space around it can be acceptable while the same icon in a tight row is not.

Level AAA asks for 44 by 44, which is also what both Apple and Google recommend for anything a thumb has to hit. Links inside a paragraph are exempt from the rule, but a "delete" next to a "share" at 20 pixels apart is a mistake regardless of what any checklist says.
