How color harmonies work
Harmonies are fixed angles on the color wheel. Complementary colors sit opposite each other (180°) and give the most tension. Analogous colors sit side by side (about 30° apart) and feel calm. Triadic colors are 120° apart and feel lively, so let one dominate.
A harmony only picks hues. You still decide how much of each to use. The 60-30-10 split is a safe start: a dominant color, a supporting one and a small accent. Check text pairs for contrast before you ship.
