Logo clear space and sizing
Set clear space and minimum sizes for a logo, see the guides drawn to scale and download the spec as an SVG.
What clear space is for
Clear space is the area around a logo where nothing else is allowed: no text, no other logos, no busy photo. It stops the mark competing with its surroundings. Tying the measure to a part of the logo itself, usually its height or the height of one letter, means the rule scales with the logo instead of breaking at small sizes.
Minimum size is the other half of the rule. Below a certain width, fine detail fills in on press and disappears on screen. Most identities carry a simplified mark for those cases, which is worth drawing before anyone needs it at 16 pixels.
