Social post checker
Check one caption against Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads and more: limits, what shows before 'more', hashtags and links.
Counts are close estimates. X counts every link as 23 characters and some emoji as 2.

Keep text and faces inside the central safe area on vertical video. Platforms overlay buttons and captions on the edges.
Why the visible part matters most
Feeds cut captions short. On Instagram only about the first 125 characters show before "more", and LinkedIn shows roughly 210 on desktop. Whatever sits in that space is your hook, so lead with the payoff, not the greeting.
Limits change, so treat this as a quick check. Instagram allows up to 2,200 characters, LinkedIn posts 3,000, X 280 on a free account, and Threads 500.
